How to prepare your family for the session

Here are a few top tips to help things go smoothly:

1. Give yourselves plenty of time – Leave time to get ready at a calm pace. Rushing out the door flustered never sets the tone for relaxed family photos.

2. Let the kids nap if they need it – Tired little ones can feel overwhelmed in new environments, so if your child is still napping, a late afternoon rest can help a lot.

3. Pack non-messy snacks – A rice cake or some fruit can help little ones stay cheerful — just avoid anything too sticky or colourful that might stain clothes or hands.

4. Avoid treat bribery – Try not to offer sweets or a big activity afterwards as a “reward.” This can actually make children want to rush through the session. Instead, treat the shoot as the fun event!
